Over 17,800 people, mostly from the Nord/Pas-de-Calais region, either residents or expatriates spread across the world - students, professionals, retired people and others - provided their support to lille2004 European Capital of Culture. Present all year round, in action every day in the lille2004 venues and at the heart of the organisation during major events, the ambassadors were without question one of the driving forces involved in this amazing adventure.
In 2006, several hundred volunteers contributed to the success of Bombaysers de Lille. Many are already mobilised for the Europe XXL project in 2009.
